Bill Clinton & Monica movie needs comedy, not drama

Posted by bluedress on 7th April 2009

According to reports in Variety and Spout.com, Peter Morgan will make his director debut in Special Relationship, a possible HBO movie about Tony Blair and his friendship with Bill Clinton during the Monica Lewinsky saga. Special Relationship is a drama that will only show archive footage of Monica, instead of her as an actual character.

“I wish Peter Morgan success for his movie,” says Daniel Vovak, executive producer for The Blue Dress, a comedy about Bill and Monica. “But the problem with his movie, is that it’s a drama, not a comedy. Americans need to laugh these days, not relive presidential impeachment proceedings.”

Good start to AFI Casting

Posted by bluedress on 16th February 2009

AFI marqueeWe’re having a busy and productive casting call here in Silver Spring. Scores of actors showed up today for most parts, we think we’ve found a few gems already. It’s a great location. We were very pleased to see The Blue Dress going by on the marquee all day and night.

The producers and investors are having good discussions, the crew is coming together and we’re moving forward. A PBS crew came by set up for filming and will be doing interviews. More media is expected soon.

We’re all very busy. Our “Monica” even helped with getting the actors signed in and handing out sides. More news and more pictures soon.

In Philadelphia, The Blue Dress (BlueDressMovie.com) released a movie trailer and auditioned for the role of Monica, signing last week the stunning Ashley-Rebekah Faulkner. The Blue Dress also signed the famous Paula Jones (who stars in the movie), and has offered Hillary Clinton $500,000 to play herself.
